In the Podkarpacie region of southern Poland the lands of Kolbuszowa hold a special place. The area is unique due to its favorable climactic conditions, large stretches of forests which offer a safe habitat for numerous species of animals, clear water, magnificent monuments of architecture which attest to the rich history of this land, and above all, the hospitality of the inhabitants, their folk traditions and customs. Although there are no mountains or sea here, the beauty of this land lies in its pristine nature, silence and modesty - an asset not offered by other famous spas or tourist centres.
The powiat of Kolbuszowa is situated almost in the center of the Basin of Sandomierz, in the area of the former Primeval Forest of Sandomierz. It comprises the town and the municipal administrative unit of gmina in Kolbuszowa, as well as the 5 rural gminas of Cmolas, Majdan, Krolewski, Niwiska, Ranizow and Stary Dzikowiec.
