The Royal Lazienki has for centuries been the site of the most important events in the history of the Polish nation - since the Middle Ages successive centres of power were placed in Ujazdow, around which gathered the intellectual elite.
Łazienki Królewskie is a unique place - it is an area that combines extraordinary architecture and the beauty of nature. The entire complex - which consists of three gardens, the Palace on the Island, Old Orangery, Myślewicki Palace, Amphitheater and many other valuable objects - covers an area of 76 hectares. The album contains archival photos from 1915-1939 depicting the Royal Łazienki in the period from before the destruction caused by the Second World War and the Nazi occupation. The topographical layout of the photograph causes that by watching the publication, we are taking a kind of walk around this beautiful place. The journey is enriched by short descriptions of individual objects that refer to the image of the Royal Baths seen through the eyes of the outstanding historian and philosopher Władysław Tatarkiewicz. Łazienki Królewskie to wyjątkowe miejsce ‒ jest to obszar łączący niezwykłą architekturę i piękno przyrody. Cały kompleks ‒ na który składają się trzy ogrody, Pałac Na Wyspie, Stara Pomarańczarnia, Pałac Myślewicki, Amfiteatr i wiele innych cennych obiektów ‒ zajmuje powierzchnię 76 hektarów. Album zawiera archiwalne zdjęcia z lat 1915‒1939 przedstawiające Łazienki Królewskie w okresie sprzed zniszczeń, jakie spowodowała druga wojna światowa i okupacja hitlerowska. Topograficzny układ fotografii powoduje, że oglądając publikację, odbywamy swego rodzaju spacer po tym pięknym miejscu. Wędrówkę wzbogacają krótkie opisy poszczególnych obiektów, które odnoszą się do obrazu Łazienek Królewskich widzianego oczami znakomitego historyka i filozofa Władysława Tatarkiewicza.
