Description

Reprint of the 1913 issue of Scouting in Poland. The cradle of scouting is in England and it is the English principles of scouting on which the Polish scouting movement is modeled.
Mr. Edmund Sas Naganowski, former Secretary of the Polish Literary Society in London, well-known among English friends of Poland, introduced English customs and culture in Poland. He was the first to translate Polish society Advantages of English Civic Training.

His first article about Boy Scouts and Boys Brigades appeared in Lviv in Polish. On November 16, 1909 he began his correspondence with the Chief Scout of the World, Sir Robe mt. Baden Powell, who encouraged Naganowski to initiate the movement in Poland and gave him a copy of his scouting handbook entitled Scouting for Boys.

The rules described in this book were widely discussed in the Polish Sokol Gymnastic Society and two years later the scouting movement was born in Poland
