A new publication from the authors of Swiat Kresow (World Of The Borderlands). 215 illustrations from the Eastern Front of WWI, over 100 previously unpulbished. Complete title - The Great War In The East 1914 - 1918 From The Baltic To The Carpathian Mountains
The album evokes images from the eastern front, showing the Great War in the Borderlands - the former eastern territories of the Republic of Poland, the territories of modern Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus and Ukraine. In eight chapters (Cordons, garrisons; Marching out; On the line of fire; Victims; Life at the front; Idyll at the back; Triumphs; Landscape after the battle) there are original iconographic materials from the private collection of Tomasz Kuba Kozłowski. One of the advantages of the album are the previously unpublished photos and fragments of correspondence of German-speaking soldiers fighting on the Eastern Front. The publication also includes: a calendar of events, maps, quotes and three indexes: geographical, names, photographers and postcard users. The album contains texts in Polish and English
Album przywołuje obrazy z frontu wschodniego, ukazując Wielką Wojnę na Kresach ?dawnych ziemiach wschodnich Rzeczypospolitej, terenach współczesnej Litwy, Łotwy, Białorusi i Ukrainy. W ośmiu rozdziałach (Kordony, garnizony; Wymarsz; Na linii ognia; Ofiary; Życie na froncie; Sielanka na tyłach; Tryumfy; Krajobraz po bitwie) znalazły się oryginalne materiały ikonograficzne pochodzące z prywatnej kolekcji kresowianów Tomasza Kuby Kozłowskiego. Jednym z walorów albumu są niepublikowane dotąd zdjęcia i fragmenty korespondencji niemieckojęzycznych żołnierskich walczących na froncie wschodnim. Publikacja zawiera ponadto: kalendarium wydarzeń, mapy, cytaty oraz trzy indeksy: geograficzny, nazwisk, fotografów i nakładców pocztówek. Album zawiera teksty w języku polskim i angielskim.
