The beautiful photographic album is a mosaic composed of 60 objects in Poland, included in the list of historical monuments. These are sanctuaries, churches and monasteries, historic city centers, palaces, castles and military facilities, and fields of great battles. They represent all aspects of material and spiritual life in the lands now encompassed by Poland. Its body consists of photographs. The accompanying descriptions were created by archaeologists, art historians, researchers of the history of architecture and passionate sightseeers, authors reaching for various genres of texts: from scientific description to sightseeing tales. Text is in English and Polish. This album weighs almost 8 pounds.
Album, który oddajemy w Państwa ręce jest mozaiką złożoną z 60 obiektów w Polsce, wpisanych na listę pomników historii. Są to sanktuaria, kościoły i klasztory, historyczne centra miast, pałace, zamki i obiekty militarne, pola wielkich bitew. Reprezentują one wszelakie aspekty życia materialnego i duchowego na ziemiach objętych dziś granicami Polski. Jego korpus stanowią fotografie. Towarzyszące im opisy stworzyli archeolodzy, historycy sztuki, badacze dziejów architektury oraz zapaleni krajoznawcy, autorzy sięgający po różne gatunki tekstów: od naukowego opisu po krajoznawczą gawędę. Ta zróżnicowana stylistyka jest też odzwierciedleniem bogactwa opisanego tu dziedzictwa.
