This is a beautiful Kashub floral pattern printed on a bookmark with a brown. background. This pattern is from the Borwiacka design school
The Borowiacka school originates from the Tuchola center. The patterns of this embroidery are strongly based on the Żuków school, but the colors are extremely different. At the beginning, one shade of yellow was used in Borowiatian embroidery, with the passage of time this modest palette was expanded to include three more shades of this color. Contemporary Borowiak embroidery includes seven colors: light yellow, sunny yellow, dim gold, golden brown, golden olive, orange and brown. The feature that distinguishes Borowiatian patterns from other schools is the intersection of stems and tendrils, creating interesting compositions. The motifs often include: knots (dots) and flower petals divided in half. Honorata Bloch was the main figure and promoter of this type of embroidery at the beginning of the Borowiatian school. Today, in Tuchola, we can find several embroidery teams promoting Borowiatian embroidery with the following leaders: Antonina Olszewska, Marianna Weilandt and Barbara Jankowska.
