Mazowsze, from its very beginnings, amazes, touches and entertains audiences all over the world. With its dynamic dances, colorful costumes from 40 regions of Poland as well as universal values of its songs the ensemble promotes national and regional culture. The Ensemble's repertoire consists of over 150 songs from various parts of the world too. This is the result of 200 trips to 50 countries in which, according to the plans of Mira Ziminska Sygietynska and Tadeusz Sygietynski (the founders) the ensemble sang at least one foreign song in its original language. Most of the songs were sung by our excellent soloist Stanislaw Jopek.
For over a year we have made preparations to record and issue a CD with foreign songs. Thanks to the financial support of the Local Government of Mazowieckie Voidvodship we could implement this artistic project.
Destiny has decreed that the recordings planned for October 2006 had to be carried out without Stanislaw Jopek (he passed away). That's why we have issued this special album, of which the first CD includes songs presently recorded and dedicated by the ensemble's artists to their wonderful Colleague and Friend. The second one contains a selection of archival recordings with unforgettable performances of the legendary Mazowsze soloist.
We hope this musical travel with Mazowsze through the world will provide many artistic emotions to everyone who will take our album in their hands and will also be an inspiration for their next meeting with us.
