This reproduction of a 1920's era postcard is evidence of the renewed patriotic fervor at the time.  After World War I, Poland officially retook its place as a sovereign nation on the map of Europe after and absence of over 120 years under 3 partitions by the agressive neighbor states of Russia, Prussia and Hapsburg Austria.  In addition, Poland defeated Russia and, under the leadership of General Jozef Pilsudski, expelled the occupier in the Battle of Warsaw in 1921.
