Skin - intensive green, bright stripes on 1/3 length, few large warts
Ratio of length to diameter - 2,7:1
Downy mildew tolerance - high
Medium early variety for field production. Plants have high growing rate, almost only female blossoms located 2-3 on each node. Fruit are cylindrical, short, slender, not prone to deform and outgrow in thickness, with small seed chamber. Length to diameter relation is 2,7:1. Skin is green, slightly glossy with pale, medium length smudges and not many medium sized bumps ended with white spines. Young fruit picked everyday are ideal for cornichons (sour gherkins), older ones, 6-9 cm long are recommended for pickling. Julian is tolerant to downy mildew, cucurbit scab and cucumber mosaic virus. It allows to reduce the cost of protection and number of interventions and it extends harvesting time, resulting in large crops.
