The original concept of this collection of Polish melodies was concieved during Chet Kowalkowski's childhood years. In those early times, he observed his father performing with many of the Polish highlanders at the homes of friends and relatives. During that era, the instrumentation consisted of lead and second violin, cello, concertina, and/or accordian. This was the traditional style of Polish music during that time. The lyrics and music were accumulated and complied through the combined efforts of the two performing vocalists, Chet Kowalkowski and John Jaworski. These two fine artists have had lifelong aspirations of developing a collection of Old Country music, Featuring traditional Polish folk tunes, that were played in Polish villages many years ago. To the older generations of Poles it will be reminiscent of their youth in the homeland. To the young, it will acquaint them with their rich Polish ancestry, which hopefully will be passed on to future generations.
